Our Practice Areas
Specialist counsel, not a general practice.
We concentrate our expertise in four areas — income tax appeals, TDS compliance, GST representation and pan-India non-profit management — and support them with accountancy and SME advisory.
Tax Litigation
Income Tax Appeals
Litigation is where our practice began in 1971, and it remains our sharpest edge. We represent clients at every stage of an income tax dispute — from the first scrutiny notice through to the final appellate order.
- ·Drafting responses to notices under Sections 143(2), 148 and 142(1)
- ·Representation in scrutiny assessments and reassessment proceedings
- ·First appeals before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) — CIT(A)
- ·Second appeals before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal — ITAT
- ·Rectification applications under Section 154 and revision petitions under Section 264
- ·Stay of demand applications and penalty proceedings
Compliance & Litigation
TDS Compliance & Appeals
Withholding tax obligations carry sharp deadlines and sharper penalties for default. We manage the full TDS compliance calendar for deductors, and represent clients when defaults are alleged.
- ·Quarterly TDS/TCS return filing across all applicable sections (194C, 194H, 194J, 194Q and more)
- ·Correction statements and reconciliation with Form 26AS / AIS
- ·Resolution of short-deduction and short-payment defaults raised on TRACES
- ·Lower/nil deduction certificate applications under Section 197
- ·Representation in proceedings under Section 201 (assessee-in-default)
- ·Appeals against TDS orders before CIT(A)
GST
GST Representation
We stand beside clients through the full arc of a GST dispute — from a departmental audit query to a contested appeal.
- ·Registration, return filing and reconciliation (GSTR-1, 3B, 9 & 9C)
- ·Response to show-cause notices and departmental audits
- ·Representation in assessments under Sections 73 and 74
- ·First appeals before the Appellate Authority and second appeals before the GST Appellate Tribunal
- ·Refund claims, including for inverted duty structure and exports
- ·Input tax credit disputes and blocked credit representations
Our Core Specialisation
Non-Profit Organisation Management — Pan-India
This is where our practice does its deepest work, for clients across India. We manage the full lifecycle of a non-profit organisation under one roof, so trustees and founders never have to coordinate between multiple vendors.
- ·Formation of trusts, societies and Section 8 companies, with founding documents drafted to purpose
- ·12A and 80G registration and periodic renewal
- ·FCRA registration, renewal and ongoing compliance for organisations receiving foreign contributions
- ·CSR-1 registration to receive corporate CSR funding
- ·Statutory accounting, audit coordination and Form 10B/10BB filings
- ·Programme design, budget monitoring and donor/CSR reporting
- ·Representation before the Income Tax Department and Ministry of Home Affairs (FCRA wing) on notices and queries
Advisory
Bookkeeping & Accountancy
Accurate, up-to-date books are the foundation of every other service we provide. We prepare financial statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, and ensure compliance with the Companies Act, GST and Income Tax Act throughout.
Advisory
SME Set-Up & Management
From incorporation through ongoing compliance, accounting and tax, we support small and medium enterprises with the business advisory needed to grow — drawing on decades of experience with the unique challenges SMEs face.
The Appeal Ladder
- 01
Assessing Officer
Scrutiny, reassessment or best-judgment assessment is completed and an order is passed.
- 02
Commissioner (Appeals) — CIT(A)
The first appellate authority reviews the assessment order on facts and law.
- 03
Income Tax Appellate Tribunal — ITAT
The second appellate forum, and often the final fact-finding authority in a dispute.
- 04
High Court
Appeals on substantial questions of law arising from the Tribunal's order.
- 05
Supreme Court
The final forum, reserved for matters of significant legal importance.
Why It Matters
Specialists see what generalists miss.
Focused practice areas
We concentrate on litigation and non-profit management rather than spreading across every service a client might need.
The same team, start to finish
The person who drafts your response is the person who represents you before the authority.
Regional roots, pan-India reach
A tax litigation base in the north, and a non-profit management practice that now serves clients across India.
